xShot Launch Monitor respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how xShot Launch Monitor handles information when you use our mobile application and related website.
1. Overview
xShot Launch Monitor is a golf swing training app that uses the iPhone camera to record and analyze golf swing motion. The app is designed to measure and display training-related data such as club speed, ball speed, swing path, club face angle, and impact location.
The core swing analysis is processed locally on your device. We do not upload your swing videos to our servers as part of the normal app analysis workflow. If analysis fails or produces unexpected results, users may voluntarily choose to upload a video clip and diagnostic information for troubleshooting and technical support.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
xShot Launch Monitor does not require users to create an account.
We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, address, golf handicap, or personal profile information.
We do not collect GPS coordinates or precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, IDFA, photo library contents, video paths, or video contents through analytics.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your swing videos for advertising.
We do not upload your swing videos to our servers as part of the normal app analysis workflow.
Users may voluntarily choose to upload a video clip and diagnostic information for troubleshooting and technical support as described in Section 3A.
3. Camera and Video Data
xShot Launch Monitor requires camera access in order to record high-speed swing video.
Video frames may be processed locally on your device to detect the golf ball, club head, swing path, impact position, and related measurement data.
Unless you choose to share or export content yourself, your swing videos and analysis results remain on your device.
3A. Troubleshooting Uploads
If swing analysis fails or produces unexpected results, users may voluntarily choose to upload a video clip and diagnostic information to xShot Launch Monitor for troubleshooting and technical support.
Uploaded information may include:
- Video clips (such as hitclip.mov)
- Analysis logs
- Device model
- iOS version
- App version
- Diagnostic information related to the analysis process
Uploads occur only after the user explicitly chooses to upload the information and confirms the upload request.
By confirming the upload request, the user consents to the transfer of the selected files and diagnostic information to xShot Launch Monitor for troubleshooting purposes.
Uploaded diagnostic information may include a random device identifier generated by the app, so support files can be grouped by the device that submitted them.
The uploaded information is used solely to:
- Investigate analysis failures
- Provide technical support
- Improve application reliability and performance
Problem video uploads are not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
xShot Launch Monitor does not sell uploaded support files or diagnostic information to third parties.
Uploaded support files are typically deleted within 7 days after troubleshooting has been completed.
Users may contact the developer to request deletion of uploaded support files associated with their troubleshooting request.
4. Measurement and Training Data
The app may generate swing-related data such as:
- Club speed
- Ball speed
- Ball angle
- Swing path angle
- Club face angle
- Impact location on the club face
- Remaining daily free swing count
- Pro subscription status
- Free Pro license activation status
This data is used to provide the app's training and analysis features.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
xShot Launch Monitor offers optional paid subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchase.
Purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.
Your subscription status may be checked locally through Apple's StoreKit system so the app can determine whether Pro features are active.
If you receive a free Pro license, the app may send a random device identifier to xShot Launch Monitor servers to check whether that free license is active, expired, or lifetime. The response is used only to activate or deactivate Free Pro access on that device.
5A. Device Identifier for Free Pro Licenses
xShot Launch Monitor may generate a random device identifier and store it in the iOS Keychain. This helps recognize the same app installation after the app is reinstalled and allows xShot Launch Monitor to manage free Pro license activation.
This identifier is not your name, email address, Apple ID, advertising identifier, or IDFA. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking. The device identifier is not shared with advertising networks or data brokers.
The device identifier may be sent to xShot Launch Monitor servers for free Pro license checks, anonymous analytics, and voluntary troubleshooting uploads. It is used to provide license activation, understand app reliability, and support users who choose to share diagnostic files.
6. App Diagnostics
Depending on your device settings and Apple services, Apple may provide developers with aggregated diagnostics, crash reports, or App Store analytics.
These reports are used to improve app stability, performance, and user experience.
7. Analytics and Usage Information
xShot Launch Monitor may collect anonymous usage information to help improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.
Examples include:
- App launches
- Swing analysis events
- Selected club types
- Practice mode usage
- Subscription events
- Feature usage
- Analysis success and failure statistics
- Problem video upload events
Analytics events may include a random install identifier, a random device identifier, app version, build number, iOS version, device model, event name, timestamp, subscription category, a country code, and limited event properties. These identifiers are generated by the app and are not provided by Apple.
When an analytics request reaches our server, Cloudflare may use the connection IP address to provide a country-level code, such as CA or US. xShot Launch Monitor stores this country code for aggregate install, activity, and swing statistics. We do not store the connection IP address in our analytics records, and we do not collect GPS coordinates, street addresses, or precise location through analytics.
The information collected is not linked to your name, email address, phone number, contacts, advertising identifiers, or Apple ID.
xShot Launch Monitor does not collect video contents, video file paths, photo library contents, GPS coordinates, contacts, advertising ID, or IDFA through analytics.
xShot Launch Monitor does not use analytics data for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
Analytics data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the app and related services.
8. Third-Party Services
xShot Launch Monitor may rely on Apple services such as App Store, TestFlight, StoreKit, and in-app purchase infrastructure.
Cloudflare provides network delivery and security services for xShot Launch Monitor servers and may process connection information, including IP addresses, to protect the service and provide a country-level code.
Your use of Apple services is also governed by Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
9. Children's Privacy
xShot Launch Monitor is intended for golf training and sports analysis. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Data Security
Because xShot Launch Monitor primarily processes swing video locally on your device, your video data is not normally transmitted to our servers. The only exception is when a user voluntarily chooses to upload a video clip and diagnostic information for troubleshooting purposes.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, backups, and any content you choose to export or share.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
